Synopsis: This book is derived from a collection of papers presented and speeches delivered by expert and scholars during an International seminar entitled: A Potrait of Contemporary Indonesian Islam : Remapping and Responding Worldwide Social Agenda”, which was held in Jakarta on December 14-15 2005, and organized by the Center For Languages and Cultures in Collaboartion with Konrad-Ardenauer-Stiftung. A wide range of contemporary developments in Indonesian Muslim Society are discussed in detail.

The book forms and introduction in the pluralistic ways these development are studied and explained. Questions of why dialogue with important and why Indonesian Islam deserves world-wide attention are well addressed in this book
